The rich get richer and the poor get nothing...

There are some people that you immediately warm to - and some that you don't. Grover Norquist falls into the latter category. He appears to be a Republican senator, and he seems to hold to the subject statement above.

I've just listened to him being interviewed on B.B.C. Radio 4 on the subject of inheritance taxation. The interviewer pointed out that you can't take it with you when you die.

Grover Norquist seems to think that, because 'Fred' earned his money he should be allowed to do what he likes with all of it.

The interviewer suggested that the taxed portion could be used to help society's poor and needy.

But 'Fred' earned his money, Grover Norquist stressed. The poor hadn't earned it and so had no right to it. 'Fred' should be allowed to leave it all to his wife and children if he wants to.

The interviewer pointed out that it may not be in the children's best interest to receive a large sum of money that they haven't earned.

Well, if the kids frittering away their inheritance on drink and drugs were Liberal-Democrats, then that was fine by Grover Norquist.

Bottom line - if you have to part with any of your money to help the poor after you're dead, well, then you're talking about a socialist state.

He said it like that was a bad thing...
